Ha sido un descubrimiento de mi ciudad natal, observar donde no había observado antes, sin tener un objetivo claro empecé a organizar y a editar una colección, un experimento siendo la fotografía un nuevo medio, Yo más acostumbrado a la creación gráfica, un registro antes de que todo se acabe, así nació esta pequeña muestra.

No había pasado tanto tiempo en Guanare en 20 años, y recorriendo la ciudad empecé a hacer estas fotos con mi teléfono, como algo bonito y anecdótico para mis redes sociales, pero no es tan sencillo.

Mientras la galería empieza a crecer en mi teléfono poco a poco voy encontrando mis raíces, voy reconstruyendo mi tan dañada identidad.

Las casitas son reminiscencias de lo que fue la ciudad, imagino cómo era la casita donde creció mi madre, cuando la mayoría eran de bahareque (palos y cañas entretejidos cubiertos de barro), cuando todas eran de un uniforme blanco, no pintadas de los vivos colores que llevan ahora, y me veo a mi mismo, re ejado en sus fachadas.
También significa una nueva etapa creativa, otro paso en la búsqueda.

It has been a discovery of my hometown, observe where I had not observe before, without a clear purpose I started to organize and edit a collection, an experiment, being photography a new medium, myself more used to the graphic creation, a log before everything is gone, so was born this small piece.

I had not spent so much time in Guanare in 20 years, and walking the city I started to make these photos with my phone, as something pretty and anecdotal for my social networks, but it is not that simple.

While the gallery begins to grow on my phone, I’m slowly finding my roots, I’m rebuilding my so corrupted identity.

The “Casitas” are reminiscent of what was the town, I imagine how was the house where my mother grew up, when most of them were of bahareque (sticks and canes woven covered with mud), when all were in a plain white, not painted in the living colors like now, and I see myself re ected in their facades.

It also means a new creative stage, another step in the search.
